I received undergraduate training in business, politics, law and economics before pursuing a professional training in Osteopathy and Naturopathy at the College of Osteopaths in London UK. I established a private undergraduate clinic, and on graduation had registered > 3,000 patients. I undertook training in Nutritional Therapy at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition. I later sat on the governing body for 3 years. I've attended post graduate training in immunology since 2004. I developed my clinic into an Integrative Medicine Practice, in which I used the model of functional medicine (1991 onward) as my core strategy. During >25 years I was in private practice I personally registered and managed in excess of 10,000 patients, eventually selling in 2006 and retiring from full time clinical practice in 2007. I co-founded Nutri-Link Ltd (1998) a professional to professional food supplement distribution and post graduate education company. In Feb 2012 the company was acquired in an equity merger by Allergy Research Group, part of the Kikkoman Food company. I remain the MD and head of R&D of this company which continues to expand in the UK and globally. I developed the Not For Profit Education Co: www.clinicaleducation.org where I am the managing editor and review papers published in mainstream journals that reflect on the clinical application or understanding of nutrition and immunology; in particular the mucosal immune system. I am adjunct faculty & educator for the Institute for Functional Medicine. I concurrently evolved a consultancy business IHC Ltd which is my vehicle for lectures, innovation and development in the use of natural substances to beneficially modify immune responses in humans and functional foods and also acts as my connection for lecturing and preparation of peer reviewed papers.
